Each December, we take the opportunity to pause and reflect on the last twelve months. 2021 continued to be a year full of ups and downs but as it comes to an end, I’m pleased to highlight the significant accomplishments the organization has achieved.

Redfish Release 2021.3 Now Available

DMTF’s Redfish^®, Release 2021.3 is now available for public download. Designed to deliver simple and secure management for hybrid IT and the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), the latest release of the Redfish standard includes three new schemas, 20 schema updates, and additional developer resources.

DMTF Shares New Presentation for MCTP 2.0

DMTF’s Platform Management Communications Infrastructure (PMCI) Working Group recently published an overview presentation, which provides detailed requirements regarding its forthcoming update to the Management Component Transport Protocol (MCTP) specifications.

DMTF Welcomes New VP of Membership

Donnie Sturgeon of Vertiv has been appointed to serve as DMTF’s new vice president of membership. Donnie will play an important role in the organization as DMTF continues its commitment of providing value to its members.

Donnie will oversee the organization’s membership initiatives while striving to grow its domestic and global presence. Please join us as we welcome Donnie in his new leadership role with DMTF!

Did you miss the Redfish 2021.2 webinar? Now available on-demand!

DMTF’s Redfish Forum held a live webinar on Wednesday, October 6th.  Presented by the chairs of the Redfish Forum and hosted on Zoom, this webinar covered the contents of the 2021.2 release. The new release includes the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Framework allowing for authorization to be performed by an external entity – no usernames or passwords need to be provided by the client.

DMTF Releases SMBIOS 3.5

DMTF has released Version 3.5 of the System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) Reference Specification, the premier standard for delivering management information via system firmware. Since its first release in 1995, the widely implemented SMBIOS standard has simplified the management of more than two billion client and server systems.
