DMTF and PCI-SIG Form Alliance

DMTF and the Peripheral Component Interconnect Special Interest Group (PCI-SIG®) have formed an alliance to help ensure the two organizations’ standards are coordinated and address management requirements, including security object definitions, schema definition, and JSON/OData interoperability, as well as management of devices using MCTP over PCIe. The PCI-SIG is an electronics industry consortium responsible for specifying the Peripheral Component Interconnect, PCI-X, and PCI Express computer buses.

Watch DMTF Presentations from the OCP Global Summit

DMTF recently participated in the Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit, March 14-15, which hosted more than 3,400 attendees interested in the open hardware ecosystem. DMTF experts met hundreds of developers and executives at the booth, all interested in learning more about Redfish® and DMTF’s other standards.

Learn How Redfish, PMCI, and SMBIOS Enable Interoperable Management

DMTF’s newest positioning paper – “End-to-End Interoperable Management: The Standards Requirement for Modern IT” – is now available. Detailing the organization’s uniquely holistic approach to the development of Redfish®, SMBIOS, and the suite of standards from DMTF's PMCI Working Group, this paper describes how these standards provide a powerful combination for interoperability – purpose-built for today’s complex IT environments.

DMTF and The Open Group are extending their long-standing alliance for standards-based IT management. The new effort will focus on utilizing DMTF’s Redfish® API for out-of-band management in the telemetry process automation space.

DMTF Restructures CIM Activities Under New CIM Forum

DMTF is dedicated to continually evolving the organization’s structure to facilitate collaboration and interoperability across our standards. In an important change for 2019, the DMTF group formerly known as System Management (SM) Forum has become the CIM Forum. As part of this restructuring, all work on the Common Information Model has been consolidated under this single umbrella for increased efficiency.

DMTF Releases Update to PLDM for Redfish Device Enablement Specification

DMTF has released a new version of its Platform Level Data Model (PLDM) for Redfish® Device Enablement Specification (RDE) as a Work In Progress. This standard enables a management controller to present Redfish-conformant management of I/O adapters in a server, without the need for code specific to each adapter family/vendor/model.
