Message from the President: DMTF Celebrates 15 Years of Driving Industry Standards
DMTF celebrates its 15th anniversary today. Established in the early 90’s and incorporated in 1995, DMTF has established itself as the industry organization leading the development, validation and promotion of systems management standards. The organization, which started with a small group of companies, is now comprised of more than 150 member companies, and more than 4,000 active participants spanning 43 countries.
Special CDM Forum Dues Promotion
DMTF’s CDM Forum, the DMTF group dedicated to uniting the computer industry on a single interoperable interface for all system diagnostics, has some exciting opportunities for companies interested in joining the forum. The CDM Forum is offering a limited-time, special dues promotion that expires December 31, 2010. DMTF Releases New Open Cloud Standards Incubator Documents; Announces Workgroup Formation
PORTLAND, Ore. – July 26, 2010 – Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF), the organization bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on systems management standards development, validation, promotion and adoption, today announced the availability of two new documents produced by its Open Cloud Standards Incubator. The documents – “Use Cases and Interactions for Managing Clouds,” and “Architecture for Managing Clouds” – will form the foundation for DMTF’s ongoing cloud standards work. In addition, DMTF has also launched the Cloud Management Workgroup (CMWG), to develop cloud management standards based on the recommendations outlined in the Incubator documents.

DMTF recently released its CMDBf Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) White Paper.
Common Information Model (CIM) Schema: Version 2.25.0 Released
A number of enhancements and additions are introduced throughout the Schema, including ongoing improvements to support product and alliance partners and to support DMTF Profiles and Management Initiatives. Examples include updates to BIOS, printers, standard messages, operating system state, modern power management paradigms, virtualization and security.DMTF in the News
